UCAS (London) Higher Education Convention
In response to the recent government announcement regarding the coronavirus, UCAS have decided to postpone the convention.
Assuming that school is open, we will expect students in school as normal.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Tuesday 24th March 2020 (11.30am – 1.30pm)
We have pre-booked tickets for all Year 12 students to visit the annual UCAS Higher Education Exhibition at the ExCel Centre in London on Tuesday 24 March. This is a great opportunity to explore universities, careers, employment and apprenticeships.
Our group booking is for a two-hour slot between 11:30am and 13:30pm and students will need to make their own way to and from the ExCel Centre. Beths staff will not be in attendance so students are therefore advised to plan their journey ahead to ensure that they arrive by 11:15am. You may find this link useful when planning your journey: https://www.excel.london/visitor/getting-here.
UCAS will email all students directly with a link so they can download their ticket; should this link not arrive by next week, students should come and see one of the Assistant Heads of Year 12/13 in the Sixth Form Study Centre.
Students should use the resources available in school and online, as well as Indigo, in order to get the most out of the event. This way, students can have an idea of the questions they would be looking to ask and which stands to visit.
In previous years, some students have chosen to take the Emirates Cable Car from the Greenwich Peninsula (at the O2) across to The Royal Docks, which is then just a short 5 minute walk to the ExCel Centre. Students may be entitled to receive a discount on the cost of the cable car, by providing proof of their attendance to the convention (via their entry ticket).
Please see the below letter and consent form which need to be retuned as soon as possible.
