A Level Curriculum

A Level Curriculum

Your A level curriculum at Beths incorporates far more than just time in a classroom.

In the classroom

Each student will typically study three A level subjects from a selection of over thirty choices (see subject choices booklet for further details).

Our students receive seven 50-minute lessons per subject, per week, which is more than any other local school.

Independent Study

Outside of the classroom, we encourage students to continue their learning in our dedicated Sixth Form Study Centre, our Learning Resources Centre or off site in libraries, cafés, or at home. This opportunity to take an independent and active role in their education is valuable for preparing students for university life and the beginning of their careers.

Enrichment

Wednesday afternoons are set aside for enrichment activities. Our sixth formers are invited to engage in activities including sport, community placements and voluntary work, subject mentoring, music, drama, and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). This programme is important in developing well-rounded students who positively contribute to our wider community, as well as helping to maintain good student wellbeing.

Careers and university programme

Our students have a wide network of staff to support them in making the right decisions about their futures, in addition to a large pool of resources. Students all have their own unique login for Indigo, an online hub for university and career-specific information and resources. A series of events hosted at Beths take place throughout the year to assist our students every step of the way.
