Coronavirus (COVID-19) – updates from the Headteacher

As we come to the end of our second week working and learning from home, we hope that students are managing to complete work that is being set and, if they have any queries, are receiving the answers that help them to move forward.

In these uncertain and unprecedented times it is important that we communicate clearly and professionally to each other.  Show My Homework is a platform that allows staff and students to work together to ensure they don't fall behind.  However, I would like to remind all students that you must use a school-appropriate and professional tone when commenting to staff about work.  Unfortunately, if we find that this is not the case then we will have to consider removing this form of communication for the small minority of students to whom this applies.  Many thanks to the vast majority of you who are using this platform brilliantly.

Monday sees the start of what would have been the beginning of the Easter break and we are sure that parents, students and staff could all do with a break from the routine of school/work.  To this end, staff will not be contactable over the Easter break however, you may find that some staff do continue to set work for the holiday period and this may be particularly for students in Years 10 and 12.  Staff have been asked not to set any work deadlines during Easter and they should be 20 April or after.  If you have not been set work over the Easter break, why not take the opportunity to catch up with some reading for pleasure, or a new hobby, or taking advantage of one of the many Apps that are currently free to use like Audible or Kindle, or join the nation and keep fit with Joe Wicks!
