  • We understand that everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children

  • We maintain an attitude of 'it could happen here' where safeguarding is concerned

  • We require all members of staff to report any safeguarding concerns to our Safeguarding Lead (Mrs King), the Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Mrs Searby) or the Headteacher (Mr Blyghton); but we also note that any staff member can refer their concerns to Children's Social Care directly and this should be done if, at any point, there is a risk of immediate serious harm to a child

  • We are aware of the reporting requirement with regards to known cases of female genital mutilation (FGM)

  • We understand that protecting children from the risk of radicalisation is part of the school's wider safeguarding duties, and is similar to protecting children from other forms of harm and abuse

  • If staff members have concerns about another staff member, they must refer their concern to the Headteacher (Mr Blyghton).  Where there are concerns about the Headteacher, they should be referred to the Chair of Governors (Mr Brock)

  • Should staff or volunteers have concerns about poor or unsafe practices and potential failures in the school's safeguarding regime, they should contact the Headteacher.
