Dress Code

Students in the Sixth Form at Beths provide a role model to the rest of the school and as such, are expected to dress smartly at all times during the school day, and on the way to and from school, to reflect their senior status.

Sixth Form dress code for both male and female students must therefore be appropriate for a formal business environment.

Ladies

  • Suit trousers and matching suit jacket. No shorts, ¾ length trousers, leggings/jeggings/tight fitted trousers or casual trousers of any kind.
  • Suit skirt (or dress) and matching suit jacket (of a sober colour ie black/grey/navy). Skirt should be no shorter than knee length.
  • Smart shirt/blouse, or round necked top of a sensible cut. No sleeveless; low cut; vest/strappy or hooded tops.
  • School tie (Sixth Form tie or Prefect tie. Optional during the school day but must be worn for formal school occasions with a collared shirt (buttoned to the neck).
  • Tights/stockings must be plain with no patterns. Knee length socks are not permitted.
  • Plain dark smart shoes. No trainers, boots or canvas shoes.
  • Light, subtle makeup may be worn
  • One discreet stud or small ring per ear may be worn. Other visible body piercings and tattoos are not permitted.
  • Hair colour and style must be appropriate for school

Gentlemen

  • Smart suit ie matching jacket and trousers. Tight fitting or casual trousers are not permitted.
  • Office style shirt with collar and school tie. Either a Sixth Form tie or Prefect tie
  • A plain V neck jumper/pullover may be worn under the jacket but not instead of a jacket. Hooded tops cannot be worn under suit jackets as a replacement for jumpers/pullovers.
  • Plain socks and dark shoes. No trainers, boots or canvas shoes.
  • One discreet stud or small ring per ear may be worn. Other visible body piercings and tattoos are not permitted.
  • Hair colour and style must be appropriate for school
  • Suit Jackets MUST be worn by ALL students.
  • Suit Jackets must be formal without zips. Casual/sports jackets and coats are not to be worn in place of a suit jacket.
  • Logos are not permitted on any item of clothing.
  • Hats and headscarves are not permitted in School except for religious reasons. Clothing which covers the face will not be permitted at any time to ensure effective communication and to allow for easy identification from a safeguarding point of view.
