Students at Beths Grammar School achieve excellent set of GCSE results

Students and staff at Beths Grammar School, located on Hartford Road in Bexley, are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results.

The school is pleased to see a year of outstanding results with 63% of grades awarded at the highest 9 to 7, up from 50.2% in 2019. Remarkably, 17% of all grades were the top grade 9.

The school also saw particular success in subjects including Biology where 70% of students achieved grades 9 to 7; Electronics where 72% achieved grades 9 to 7; French where 25% of students achieved grade 9; Mathematics where 25% achieved grade 9 and 74% achieved grades 9 to 7 and Statistics where 85% of students achieved grades 9 to 7.

Whilst all students achieved good results, there were some standout individual performances. In total, 18 students scored at least seven grade 9s, including:

  • Levi, David, Steven, Joel and Max who achieved ten grade 9s.
  • Fahim, Stephen and Roman who achieved nine grade 9s.
  • Ayoola, Lewis-Jae, Prince, Luke and Sonny who achieved eight grade 9s.
  • Drew, Zaviar, Rodrigo, Orestis and Hiruna who achieved seven grade 9s.

Many of the students are now set to progress onto Beths Grammar School’s highly popular sixth form.

Steven "I haven’t quiet recovered from the shock.  I’m just really happy to have got my grades, and I’m grateful for all my teachers that got me here."

Roman" I’m ecstatic, all the hard work paid off. I’m going to go out for dinner to celebrate!! "

Ayoola" I’d like to thank God and my parents. I’m really grateful to be in a position that I’m in an environment to get these results. I’m really happy that all the hard work I put in has paid off. Anyone else can also do it if they put in the hard work!"

Rodrigo "I’m so happy with my grades, and I’m so excited for sixth form to start"

Richard Blyghton, Headteacher at Beths Grammar School, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our students receiving their GCSE results today. They have been dedicated to their studies over the last two years and it is brilliant to see this commitment and hard work recognised with this excellent set of results.

“We are excited to see what the future holds for our students and look forward to welcoming many of them back to our sixth form in September. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our students, parents, carers, staff and local community for your support and encouragement.”
